Who doesn’t love an emoji or a hashtag to get their point across on social media posts or to help your posts be seen? They are a great way to add emotion to your content or to help your content be found, however it’s very easy to get carried away with using both. Here’s some quick thoughts on using too many emoji’s and hashtags within your social media posts:
Now I absolutely love emojis, they are fun and can help bring personality and emotion into a post or a tweet and help you stand out but what I will say is sometimes it’s easy to get carried away by using too many and by getting carried away 🤓😳😱 you 😊 could 🤣 distract 😭 from 😆 the 🤗 message ✍️ you 🙋 are 👩💻trying 🙄 to communicate to your audience, so if you feel yourself getting too emoji happy on your social media platforms I would suggest you stop ✋ and think about how many you actually do need to get your message across 🤐.
Now let’s talk hashtags!
It’s probably best to leave hashtags for places like Instagram where you can use upto 30 hashtags (and even then there is a method to it, a little tip pop the majority in the first comment of your post, they will still be searchable when put there) for other platforms – Facebook, Twitter I would say it’s best to use no more than 2 or 3 if you do choose to use them (for searchable purposes). Using anymore than this can be very distracting (not to mention look spammy) and may water down your message or put your followers off reading it at all!
I hope this helps, remember sometimes less is more!
