How long have you been doing the Hustle and Juggle?
Around 3 years in current position
What is the Juggle to your Hustle?
Wow where do I start. I suffer from a condition called ME/Chronic Fatigue which is very intermittent and can cause me to take weeks off work and participation in day to day life with my family such as school runs and making tea are very very difficult.
We also have 8 children between me & my husband. I have 4 from my previous marriage, my husband has 3 from his previous and we have a daughter together aged 3. They range in age from 3 to 15. Aside from running a house hold of 10 (not including the dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, snake & fish!) we also have 2 other businesses. My husband has his own landscaping firm and between us we run tasty Leaf, a company we have started under the umbrella of Forever Living Products.

Immortal Imprints was created in 2014, the idea came the year before. I have over 15 years experience in management & customer service, some of those years within the jewellery industry. The idea came about when we saw someone creating fingerprint jewellery at a trade show and we started to look into various franchises. These were not the route for us as we wanted complete control over what we created and the pricing structure. We did not want to be dictated to in terms of what we could create and when.
I create handmade real silver fingerprint & memorial jewellery. I create these with your loved ones prints. Fingerprints, Hand Prints, Foot Prints, Pet Prints, handwriting, drawings and many other types of prints. We started to create memorial jewellery in 2014 when we created a bracelet & cufflinks of my mother in law for our wedding. Each and every piece is unique, no two are ever alike. We pride ourselves on the standard of work that we produce. We are one of the best at what we do in the UK, no item is ever sent out without us being 100% happy with it. Our pricing structure is also transparent, all prices include any ink kits required, gift box, gift bag, polishing cloth & also tracked & signed for postage. We have recently branched out and started to work with a custom jewellery design studio in Longton, Preston.
What is your Hustle and Juggle story?
Haha there are so many! I remember when I started immortal imprints and I was working from home in my kitchen. (This is where the magic happened in our old house) remember I had a 1 year old and I had a lot of orders in year one. I was trying to keep Harper entertained so I got some pans and spoons out for her to bash while I got on with some work. I got so engrossed into my work that when I came up for air, Harper had emptied the whole of our cupboards. Everything, the sugar, the flour, pots pans the lot! One covered child and a completely messy kitchen. It took me over 2 hours to clean everything down and get it back to normal.
Working from home isn’t always as easy as everyone thinks, it’s usually twice as hard as its meant to be 🙂 I am constantly running around in circles after the children or after Pete and the businesses, may of times I have messaged one his customers (wanting a garden) with one of my quotes. They think I am having a laugh. Time to invest in some CRM programs I think.
I used to sit here night after night past midnight working on new ideas, creating new jewellery or designing our websites, I can’t remember how many times I have cried with the work load that we have but I would rather do what we do than work for someone else ever again. You gain so much more satisfaction from working for yourself. It’s hard work juggling a huge family never mind a family and a business. How we manage with 3 is something I cannot explain. We carry on as we are determined to make all 3 a success and show our children that it doesn’t matter what your background is, doesn’t matter where you came from, with hard work and determination you can be anywhere that you want to be.
What’s your message to anyone reading this to inspire them to keep going and remain visible?
If you are passionate about what you do, you will find a way. You won’t make excuses, you will make reasons to carry on. Don’t make your family an excuse for not running your business, make them your reason for doing it.
