How long have you been doing the Hustle and Juggle?
What is the Juggle to your Hustle?
My business and 3 children. In June 2016 I made a huge leap and gave up my part-time job to focus fully on my business.
Tell me more about your business?
I am a Wellness Coach known on Facebook as a Watermelon Lady. I work with mumpreneurs and mums using my own concept of the Wheel of Wellness and creating very personalised and tailored to their individual needs – programmes covering working out, healthy eating (aiming to regenerate and energise the body) and empowering their mind (working on rooting the bad habits out, whatever they are, and replacing them with good ones) .
My aim is for mums to be more confident, happier, fitter and full of energy. We, as mums, tend to ‘loose our identity’ becoming someone’s mum, we always put ourselves last – this is not the way it should be. In order to become a proud and happy mum we must first look after ourselves. It is impossible to pour out of an empty cup.
I want to inspire mums that age, having kids, lack of time are just excuses, I’m 42 have 3 child and growing my coaching business (not forgetting the phase when I had a part-time job too ) and I’m not going to let anything or anyone hold me back. My passion and journey is a tool for mums out there to save time and support them, so they do not feel alone like I did in the past. Luckily I was strong enough to dig my way out but it took me about 6 years to do so. So if I can make mums feel like they are not alone then my mission is accomplished.
What is your Hustle and Juggle story?
My story started in 2013 when I somehow snapped myself out of a dark, lost place by finding INSANITY dvd home workouts. The toughest thing in my life, mentally and physically but completing it made me realise that I can conquer anything that comes my way. Then I met the founder of this workout Shaun T, became a fitness instructor and started running community fitness classes for mums. Then life got in a way, old injury and health issues also got in a way.
Thankfully I got back up thanks to my health coach and this is how my journey into healing started. I am getting my kids out of allergies using just food. I am on the mend too. I started my Personal Training qualifications; I changed classes for 1 to 1 sessions. It can be tough to get clients but I am not a quitter that I used to be, I am fully ready for the challenge that is Hustle and Juggle. I’m investing every day in learning more to grow my business. That’s it is in a nutshell. And this is only the beginning.
What’s your message to anyone reading this to inspire them to keep going and remain visible?
If I can make it happen, being in a foreign country, with English not being my first language and without any family here to support us then anyone can. Find your passion (you might have one already) and go for it. You will never work a single day in your life. Find the way, forget the excuses they only hold you back and they only exist in our heads.
Mind is designed for us to survive and surviving is not living. Living is growing. When you hit the low times (which we all do ) just remember why you started it in the first place. Think of your WHY. MOST IMPORTANTLY: show your kids how to live happy and fulfilled life by going after your dreams by not giving up when you get knocked down (which you will do ) and for doing what you love.
If like Maja you are Hustling & Juggling and would like to share your story with others please find out how you can do so here. I would love to hear from you.
On those days where the juggle is a challenge listen to Maja’s advice – Think of your WHY. MOST IMPORTANTLY: show your kids how to live happy and fulfilled life by going after your dreams by not giving up when you get knocked down (which you will do ) and for doing what you love
