Hustle and Juggle with Rebecca Browne

How long have you been doing the Hustle and Juggle?
6 years since having my girls
What is the Juggle to your Hustle?
I’m a mummy to 2 amazing girls who’s health certainly keeps me on my toes. Both have been poorly since birth and are under paediatrics care at Epsom hospital. My eldest has asthma and allergic rhinitis and has given us a few scares and worries over the last 6 years. She is on 5 drugs daily.
My 2 year old has had heart scans, cf tests, stomach tests, chest X-rays and blood tests. She is currently on long term antibiotics as can’t fight colds on her own.
Due to the support of my husband, parents, neighbours and friends I’ve only had to cancel one class due to my girls.
Tell me more about your business?
I run Arty Crafty Toddler sessions. They have been pretty much full every week since I started to run them. I initially started the classes at a local café as I saw a gap in the market locally for messy play activities for babies and toddlers. As I had originally trained as a hospital play specialist messy play and therapeutic play for children has always been a passion of mine. My background is in early years so the classes are a good extension.
My long term dream / goal is to have a studio so I could run more classes, recently I’ve extended my classes to older children and now run after school classes.
What is your Hustle and Juggle story?
Due to illness my girls aren’t great sleepers so one day I got to bed at 5am and was up at 7am to get ready for my class. I put my “face on” and ran the class as normal, the show must go on and I want everyone to have fun at my classes so a smile and laughter is always necesary!
What’s your message to anyone reading this to inspire them to keep going and remain visible?
The juggle of poorly girls and business can be tough but I love my job. I try to be positive and the way I see it that it could be a lot worse. We’ve had plenty of hospital app, A&E night visits and it may seem silly but I feel there is a reason why my 2 pickles chose me to be their mummy, I love them dearly and I’m fully up for the challenge of Hustle & Juggle!
