How long have you been doing the Hustle and Juggle?
I’ve had my business for 4 years, but I’ve been “Justling” for the last 2 years, since my little girl was born.
What is the Juggle to your Hustle?
Juggling a wonderful little human of nearly two years old and a business.
Tell me more about your business?
I’m Tracy Newberry, known as ‘The Gentle Baby Sleep Coach’ or as ‘Tracy Poppins’ by my wonderful friends and family. I specialise in working with babies between 6-11 months to get them sleeping well, in a gentle, loving and respectful way, without ever using any of the ‘Cry It Out’ methods. This significantly reduces stress and protects the bond a family work so hard to build.
What is your Hustle and Juggle story?
Mum life on its own can be challenging never mind keeping your business while raising a little one. After a year of juggling mum life, pushing hard on my business with none or very little childcare and trying to keep my business alive, I honestly wasn’t sure if I could carry on going. Something had to change.
Luckily I have an amazing husband and some awesome people around me who I look up to, can seek advice from and learn from. Their support, love and confidence in me helped pull me through and out the other side. That and I had to think hard about what I was doing and why I was doing it. Strengthening you’re why will pull you through anything.
I’m two years into juggling mum and business life, and I’ve never been happier. I’ve found balance. I’m not trying to do and be all things all the time, all at once. That’s just a recipe for stress! Now my little girl goes to nursery two days a week, and I consult and work solidly during those two days. Those are my work days, the rest of the time is to have fun and enjoy my daughter. They are our fun days where we play, laugh, explore different parks and museums and enjoy new experiences and girly lunches/ dinners out. If anything it’s taught me how to work smart with the time I have. I no longer have the precious 2 hours a day to work during Alexa’s nap time as she’s dropping her nap, but I will do at least an hours work each night before bed, inching me closer to my dreams and goals every day.
What’s your message to anyone reading this to inspire them to keep going and remain visible?
Over these last two years of juggling baby and business, I’ve realised how quickly time goes by. The more I learn to savour the moment, trust the process and enjoy the journey and beautiful unwinding of life, the less stressed and happier, and subsequently, my family and I are.
