Hustle and Juggle with Nicci Potts
How long have you been doing the Hustle and Juggle?
Since October 2013 it’s been a great whirlwind.
What is the Juggle to your Hustle?
The work/life/children balance I have 2 children and so does my partner Sara so there are constant childcare issues and the management of staff!
Tell me more about your business?
I own & run a vintage style cafe with my friend Sara. It’s 6 days a week & much more than just the opening hours. It’s really good fun but lots of hard work & physically pretty tough. We’ve been told we are like the hub of Ewell Village, we welcome everyone Mums and Dads with little ones who want to meet other families in the area or just want to escape home for a few hours and do nothing but drink tea and eat cake, we also have many elderly customers who come alone and we are always happy to spend time chatting to them and making them feel welcomed. We have a number of activities run in the café including arts and crafts sessions for toddlers and baby signing classes.
We attract freelancers and entrepreneurs as we offer free WI-FI and also host business networking events. We are a pet friendly café so I think we cater for most. 🙂
What is your Hustle and Juggle story?
I thought after a few months we would be able to take a step back from the day to day running of the business, but we quickly realised that no-one loves it like we do & it makes a difference to our customers if we aren’t there. When our little cafe is busy & the atmosphere is friendly & fun it’s the best place to hang out. I have made a lot of friends & I believe have made a positive contribution to our community.
What’s your message to anyone reading this to inspire them to keep going and remain visible?
