I posted the below yesterday in my business group Hustle and Juggle – the good, the bad and the Ugly but thought I would share on blog too as I’m sure there are others this could help…anyway here goes don’t be the one to make this mistake…
“I posted in a couple of groups today looking for recommendations for a particular service, I already had a few people in mind but wanted a few more options to pass on.
I got lot’s of responses some recommending those they know and others putting themselves forward, a couple of responses were:
“Me” or “I can help your friend pm me”
The reason I’m writing this post is because the 2 type of responses above were just not good enough, it’s so important if you are making yourself visible for an opportunity you make yourself stand out and be SEEN it doesn’t have to be an essay but a small paragraph introducing yourself and why you can help and a link to your website or a social media page will give your biz a chance – sell yourself, give reason for that person to get in touch with you.
Lastly I’ve viewed a couple of Facebook pages and there were no testimonials/reviews, I know some people are just starting out but just ONE great review could make a difference, if you are just starting out perhaps offer some free or low costs sessions in exchange of a testimonial to get you started.”
I cannot stress how important is to have a clear a concise marketing message (short and long for different purposes). Don’t lose out on opportunities because you are not presenting yourself in the right manner, first impressions really do count especially when there is some competition and noise across social media, don’t be the one that gets looked over.
